What does carbon neutrality mean?

Products become carbon neutral when their carbon emissions have been calculated and compensate for what they have produced via carbon offsetting projects. Offsetting carbon emissions, in addition to avoidance and reduction, is an important step in holistic climate action.

Carbon neutral does not mean carbon-free. Carbon-free products are those that do not generate any carbon emissions during the manufacturing or operational process. As a matter of fact, there are no examples (yet) of carbon-free products.

We understand that pursuing carbon reduction and neutrality must be accompanied by transparency throughout the whole process. Stay with us to learn more!

Acting for climate

Climate change is one of society’s greatest challenges. It is also one of the greatest risks to the future of our planet.

Reducing and offsetting projects

To achieve carbon neutrality, reducing emissions throughout agroecological systems and offsetting projects managed by the expertise of Climate Partner have been essential.
